Serve the City is a global movement of volunteers showing kindness in practical ways to people in need. It started in Brussels in 2005 and has since spread to more than 80 countries on 4 continents.
Serve the City Nyon was set up in 2012 with just a handful of local people who wanted to bring that kindness to our town too.
Serve the City Nyon aims to be the connection between the good intentions and talents of people who could volunteer and people or organisations in our region and neighbourhoods who need volunteer helpers. For example, we partner with homeless shelters, refugee centres, food banks, environmental organisations, schools and other associations, offering help and support as required.
Serve the City Nyon mobilizes volunteers to serve in simple ways, through sports, music, arts and crafts, meals, friendship, painting, litter picking and many more.
Throughout the world, when a volunteer puts on a Serve the City t-shirt they are putting on the core values of; love, compassion, respect, hope, courage, and humility.
There’s a line in every city that separates the rich from the poor, the strong from the weak, and the haves from the have-nots. Cross the Line! Get involved with Serve the City Nyon either as a volunteer or as an organisation or someone that could really use a volunteer.
